Christmas traditions-2018

My latest blog–see me on www.pamelaleeauthor.c ~~ Naomi the Sensual Senior—Christmas Bliss-Yes I said BLISS! Monthly Bluster #18 Oooooooooooooo, it’s here!! THE SEASON is here. Pammy (my fellow sensual senior and alter-ego) and I are both MEGA EXCITED that is here once again, albeit, we both suffering greatly, weighed down some days by the same angst. It is missing a whole whole lot when celebrating the season as a mature single. Let me tell you, without going into detail, day after agonizing day, we get one punch in the stomach or heart after another, wishing we were sharing the 100 little special things that happen only once a year in heavenly couple-hood (or not so much heavenly other times of the year but put aside at Christams). But that is another story, fit for another place, in another time, besides here in the celebration of Yuletide. Like about 5 million others mature Canadian adults (last counted in the 2011 census and a whole whack going it alone December 25, 2016) Pammy and I LOVE Christmas. We freakin’ LOVE it! Bring on the memories and all the beautiful saccharin sweetness of it all. All those delicious and incredibly fattening munchies and […]

THEY need you more than the soup kitchens do.

MORNING my Beautiful Pammyland website Family. Are you excited yet this 23rd day of December? Travelling? Memories in the making already? I, myself, awoke near the gorgeous city of Ottawa with a fascinating fact brewing around in Pammyland, this second last day before the Big One. It`s one of those hard but necessary topics. Like soup kitchens. It is the time of year for love and sharing, caring and family no matter where you are reading this article from, be it the tropics, a city. Heck, maybe you are on top of a mountain. In spite of that giving/caring/sharing thing, there are so many souls alone over the season when brotherhood and gathering together make unwanted solitude even more difficult and crushing for that certain demographic in our countries. Fact is, there are so many out there in this position that the dating site I occasionally frequent actually crashed last night. Imagine that! People are reaching out in need. Think of it. I can practically guarantee YOU know someone–like us. Seeking connection. ANY kind of connection to fellow humans. Dating sites aside. I come here this morning with a last-minute plea. If you DO know of someone and you want […]

Monthly Bluster

Naomi the Sensual Senior–monthly Bluster #24. Christmas is all about the magic–and vocabulary!

Naomi the Sensual Senior—Monthly Bluster #24—Christmas. It’s all about the magic. And the vocabulary. Clark Griswald and his Eggnog in a moose punch-glass rant. Elves (especially Buddy and his elevator ride) Candy canes, cracked walnuts and turkey dinner with the fixin’s. The CHRISTMAS Concert ticket conundrum—WHO gets one? Stockings in a row on the mantel. Sparkes and twinkly glitter-EVERYWHERE. ‘T’was the night before Christmas and all through the house. Sleigh bells. Carols that are not a given name. Frankincense, baby in a manger, the star. Themey wreaths, tinsel swallowed by the cat and the best lightshow in the country contests on T.L.C. Sugar Plum fairy songs chiming out from cell phones in the grocery store lineups. Carrots for Rudolph and all her gal companions sit alongside scratch tickets for stockings in those hard to find carts. Smiley faces, everywhere. “I’ll be home for Christmas—if only in my dreams” on the car radio, making us all teary eyed and nostalgic with memories of past years. NOSTALGIA! TRADITIONS! CHRISTMAS VOCABULARY used only once a year! Where all these words prompt faster heartbeats, bring grins to our lips. Words used over and over for weeks. But for these weeks, we never tire of […]

September–A fresh new page!

September. One of those months when we all seem to cleanse ourselves. That time of year has rolled around where we reinvent our existence once again. And we kind of settle and set ourselves into a new season; like a football player getting ready for the next play. Don’t you agree? We get GROUNDED in September after all those glorious weeks of goofing around and living life not too seriously, as we tend to do over the sweet dog days of summer. THAT is a good thing for now we are recharged! Ready for anything! Expectant. THAT’S the word. We feel–expectant. And filled with anticipation–a sense of excitement hanging in the air, like the smell of burning fallen leaves. As much as we hate the thought of what comes after, we all love that smell of fallen leaves burning, oui? We tend to set more goals in this month of goldens, oranges and reds. T’is a warm month in so many ways. When I wonder why that is, it comes to me that we feel a sense of calm now at this time of year. Not frantic and forced. We feel…content. But we also feel–ready. We tend to focus, once […]
